Right now I am working at a small printing company in Southwest Florida. I’ll be completely honest and say it’s a poorly run shop. There are only about 7 of us working here including the owner. We manage to get jobs done but that is only because of the skills and experience of several people here.

My day consists of coming in at 8:30 and getting the tasks on my desk taken care of. This may take 2 hours. After that I’m pretty much done but I’m required to stay here until 5:00. This leaves me with a lot of free time. Unfortunately, I get very bored. This is one reason for the blog. It gives me something to do and a place to vent my frustrations.

Since I started working here in June I’ve noticed that the building in which we are located is discusting. There is mold growing in one of the back rooms and when it rains the water actually comes up and puddles in the bathrooms. Of course, then you cannot use the toilet or flush because the “stuff” in the toilet will come up in the other restroom. It’s a complete unsanitary mess. Yesterday I turned the AC down and the whole place kinda smelled like cheese.

The best story I’ve heard so far about this place is the time that our bookkeeper was having maggots drop from the ceiling to her desk. Our owner said that it was a dead rat in the ceiling and not to worry that the food source would be gone soon. WOW - That’s nuts.
